How to Be Saved

What is salvation?

Salvation is the gift of eternal life, given to us by grace through Jesus Christ.

“For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

“For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

“Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.”

“But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble.”

What happens if I’m not saved when I die?

Your soul will go to hell for eternity- forever separated from God.

“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”

“So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, and shall cast them into the furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.”

“In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;”

“The Lord is known by the judgment which he executeth: the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah. The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”

Do I deserve God’s wrath/judgement?

Yes. We all do. Because nobody lives a sinless life (except Jesus), we all fall short of God’s glory.

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;”

“But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;”

“If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?”

“God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day”

“Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.”

“My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.”

Is everybody a sinner?

Yes, everybody has sinned against God- countless times. Sin originated in the garden of Eden, where both Adam and Even rebelled against God by eating the fruit that gave them knowledge of good and evil. Now that we all have the knowledge of good and evil, we have a choice to make. Follow God or turn to darkness (Satan). Because no darkness can enter God’s presence, you are forever condemned by any sin that you commit. There is only one way to be saved from eternal damnation…

“Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.”

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”

“But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:”

“If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;”

How can I be saved right now?

Salvation is through faith alone in Jesus Christ. Believe the blood he spilled on the cross has washed away all your sins. Believe He rose again on the third day in victory over death! Confess your sins. Ask for forgiveness. If you declare with your mouth, and believe with your heart that Jesus is Lord, and that He died on the cross and rose on the third day then you are saved!

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life.

Your fathers did eat manna in the wilderness, and are dead. This is the bread which cometh down from heaven, that a man may eat thereof, and not die.

I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
